As it happened to many others, our project was also affected by COVID-19 pandemic as well as by the following movement restriction measures. According to our schedule, the second mobility should have happened from the 18th to the 26th of March, 2020. However, the declaration of the state of alarm by our government made it impossible.
Afterwards, we tried to find a later date to carry out our trip to Germany, but the following pandemic waves made this option non-viable as well.
Finally, in such situation, the only option was to change the original physical mobility for a virtual one, as we decided to do. This way, both IES Luis García Berlanga and the Gymnasium Anna-Sophianeum carried out our second mobility from the 26th to the 28th of January, 2021. Throughout these three sessions, our students attended several activities to analyse Spanish migration in Germany. Ms. Rosario Jiménez, labour counsellor at the Spanish embassy in Berlin, provided our students with a global perspective about this issue. After her presentation, our students asked her all kinds of questions regarding migration. In the following two sessions we had the chance to interview two Spanish biology researchers, as well as a Spanish computer engineer. The three of them were very kind with our students and answered many different questions about their jobs, social relationships and language difficulties. We are very grateful to all of them.
We want to make a last mention to all participant students, who showed great professionalism despite the difficult circumstances which surrounded this last stage of our project.
